Allegro Community Center

Rockport, Texas

The program for the new community center included site assessment of an existing, 1960's facility so dilapidated that the roof caved inward and the walls bowed outward. The new building uses the existing site features including the swimming pool and parking lot. The new building included a large indoor and outdoor hall, office, break room, restrooms and storage. An exposed steel structure, cherry wood ceilings, and polished concrete floors provide a refined, modern material palette that can endure the high demands of the building type.
